   【 ** 注：“IAST”（The International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration，国际梵语音译字母表），就是用“拉丁字母”和“变音符号”（即字母上或下加点、横线、波浪线等符号，以辅助发音）来标注梵语的发音，是目前国际上通行的梵语标注方法。梵语是表音语言，现在已经没有自己的专用文字，理论上讲，其他语言只要能标出其发音，都可以用来标注梵语。在印度国内，通常用印地语、泰米尔语等语言来标注梵语；但在国际上，“IAST” 就是通行方法。上述的咒文，前面一段就是标准的 “IAST” 格式，而后面一段通常被称作“简化形式”。所谓“简化”，就是为了计算机打字方便，去掉了字母上的“变音符号”，直接用“英文字母”来表示，但“变音符号”也不是简单去掉了事，还是要符合一定规则的，比如：长啊音 “ā” 应该转换成 “aa”，长衣音 “ī” 转换成 “ee”，等等。尽管“简化”成英文字母形式，但不能用英文发音来念梵语单词，还是应该按照梵语字母的发音来念。另外，这样的简化也会带来一些问题，比如 “t” 和 “ṭ” 就无法区分了，因此按照简化形式来发音是会有一些偏差的（但比起用汉字来注音，还是强得多了），因此，这里重要的咒语会尽量同时提供 “IAST” 版本。】
    这个“智慧女神咒” (Gayatri Mantra) 来自《梨俱吠陀》，是最古老的梵语咒语，被誉为“吠陀之母”，疗愈身心的功效非常强大。它以传授智慧、理解和启发而知名。据说在创世之初，智慧女神 “Saraswati” 化身为 “Gayatri” 女神传给了“梵天” (Brahmā) 这个神圣的咒语，以满足梵天创造世界的需要。

    ** 注：从上面这位著名新世纪歌手 “Deva Premal” 的话中可以看出，在梵语咒语中，词的发音比词义更重要；梵语更注重音韵美和发音的准确度，因为它是“通灵的语言”，是用来祭祀、与神沟通的语言，也是激发人体神秘能量的语言（声音振动）。这就是为什么要尽量用梵语来念诵咒语的根本原因，对于佛教咒语，这个原则同样适用。
    这个咒语每天至少要唱诵 12遍，要想获得好的效果，每天唱诵 108遍，或者更多。唱诵的最佳时段是上午，下午亦可。唱诵时使用的手印，建议使用：“无畏印” (Abhaya Mudra)，手印结法参见👇下图👇。这个手印在佛教中也广泛使用，但用法有所不同；在佛教中，通常是右手单手结此印，并放在胸前（又被称为是“护法印”）。在唱诵 “Gayatri Mantra” 时，需要左右手同时结此印，并且抬起来，放在头部两侧，掌心朝向耳朵。

• 【 “梵天”所创造的“世界” 】
——七个世界，七层意识，七个脉轮
    上文说过，“我们生活的世界”或“宇宙”是由“梵天” (Brahmā) 创造的，他创世的依据就是《吠陀经》和这个 “Gayatri Mantra”。他创造的“世界”或“宇宙”是什么样的呢？
    根据印度传统说法，“梵天”创造的“世界”或“宇宙”就像一个椭球形的鸡蛋，故又叫作“宇宙蛋” (Brahmāṇḍa /Cosmic Egg)。这“宇宙蛋”被分成了很多层次，每个层次又被称为一个“世界” (Loka)，但这些个“世界”相比前文说的那个“无限定词的世界”小了很多，为了不引起误解，这些“小世界”我就直接用其梵语单词 “Loka” 表示。
    按照印度神圣经典 (Puranas & Atharvaveda)，“梵天”创造的“宇宙蛋”被分成了 14个层次，即 14个 “Loka”，我们生活的 “Loka”——“地界”是位于中间的层次，上面还有 6个层次或 “Loka”，而且一层比一层高级；“地界”之下，还有 7个层次或 “Loka”，一层比一层更低级。
    笼统地讲，可以把“宇宙”分成“三界” (3 Lokas)：我们生活的是“地界” (Prithvi)，“地界”之上的 6层是“天堂” (Svarga)，“地界”之下的 7层是“冥界” (Pātāla)。“冥界”的事情估计没人感兴趣，这里就不啰嗦了。从“地界”开始到最高层，共 7个 “Loka”，它们又被称为 “Vyahriti/Vyāhṛti” (其含义也接近“天堂”)。

Cosmic Egg / Brahmāṇḍa
    这 7个 “Loka” 或 “Vyahriti”，据说是在“创世”之始就被创造的，它们代表了“宇宙”的 7大行星系统 (日、月，以及 “火、水、木、金、土”五大行星)；代表了“梵天”最初创造的“七位圣人” (Saptarishi)。此外，还代表“七个神”：Agni（火神，火星，=> “地/土”），Vayu（风神，月亮，=> “气/风”），Aditya（太阳，=> “火”），Brihaspati（奉献之主，木星，=> “空，虔诚精神”），Varuna（因果之主，土星，=> “水，神秘法则 /Karma”），Indra（金刚之主，金星，“破除无明”），Vishva Devata（宇宙之神，水星，智慧之主）。
    此外，它们还代表 “意识的 7个层次”。当祈祷者念诵这些 “Vyahriti” 的咒语（“Vyahriti” 名称前加 “Om”），就可以获得该意识层次的根本力量，而这些力量其实就是 “Parabrahma”（超梵 — 超级精神 — 人格化的最高神）本身的体现。
    写到这里，我才突然意识到，人体也被认为是“小宇宙”，上述的这 7个 “Vyahriti” 正好与人体内 7个“脉轮” (Chakra) 相对应，同时亦代表人的 “7个意识层次”。这 7个 “Vyahriti” 的名称（由于出处不同，名称拼法略有不同，后面带 “r/s” 或 “ḥ”的是梵语单词在句子中的一种变化形式）如下：
  1. Bhūr, Bhū, Bhūḥ ——
    Represents earth or the physical plane（地界，物质层；无意识层）；
    First chakra：第一轮——根轮（元素：地；人体的支撑，精神之根）。
  2. Bhuvar, Bhuvas, Bhuvaḥ ——
    Represents the sky or atmospheric/astral plane（天空，大气层；潜意识层）；
    Second chakra：第二轮——腹轮、生殖轮（元素：水；智力的支撑；神秘法则，潜在之因果；还记否，“老子”在《道德经》中把“道”比喻成了什么？——水）。
  3. Svar, Suvas, Svaḥ ——
    Represents solar region or the mental plane（太阳，太阳区域；半意识层）；
    Third chakra：第三轮——脐轮（元素：火；太阳神经丛，以太神经直觉；人体能量中心）。
  4. Mahar, Mahas, Mahaḥ, Maharloka ——
    Represents a higher mental plane（显性的第一个意识层）；
    The first spiritual region beyond the sun: heart vibration（高于太阳的第一个精神区域：心的振动）；
    Fourth chakra：第四轮——心轮（元素：风、气；“Atma”自我之所在）。
  5. Janar, Janas, Janaḥ, Janaloka ——
    Represents the place of birth, a still higher plane（自我出生之地；第二个意识层）；
    The second spiritual region beyond the sun: power of the divine spiritual word（高于太阳的第二个精神区域：神圣语言的力量）；
    Fifth chakra：第五轮——喉轮（元素：空；精神净化中心）。
  6. Tapar, Tapas, Tapaḥ, Tapoloka ——
    Represents the mansion of the Blessed, an even higher plane (圣人的住所；第三个意识层)；
    The third spiritual region beyond the sun: sphere of the progenitors（高于太阳的第三个精神区域：智慧之胚胎？）；
    The realm of the highest spiritual understanding while still identified with individual existence（作为个体存在的最高精神智力区域）；
    Sixth chakra：第六轮——眉心轮（元素：识；第三眼、慧眼）。
  7. Satya, Satyam, Satyaloka ——
    Represents the abode of truth, the highest plane（真理之所；最高意识层，纯粹意识）；
    The abode of supreme truth: absorption into the supreme（最高真理之所：与最高融合）；
    Seventh chakra：第七轮——顶轮（“高我”之所在）。
 
    这就是人的 “7个意识层次”，与“宇宙”的 7个 “Loka” 或 “Vyahriti” 相呼应。人的意识就如同一座漂浮在海上的冰山，从第 4层以上是露出海面的（显意识、高级意识），第 3层由于浸入水中不深，我们似乎隐隐能“看到”，所以被称为“半意识”或“半潜意识”，其他 2层是沉没在海水之中的（潜意识或无意识）。这下面的 3层虽然“不显现”，但并不代表对人的意识没有影响，相反，它们对人的意识具有潜在的重大影响，是人的“意识之根”，只是我们没有察觉而已。所谓的“瑜伽修行”，就是要召唤、激活、提升这些深层 “Loka” 或 “Chakra” 中的意识和能量（如通常所说的，最深层、最强大的能量——“Kundalini” 或 “Shakti”，就蜷缩在“根轮”上），进而改变我们自身的意识状态，从根本上掌握自己的命运。
    另外，在印度密教中还有一种解释 (Tantric sources)，上述的 7个 “Loka” 代表以下 7个神或其象征含义：Randhra（‘opening’，开放、打开），Kāma（‘love, desire’，爱、欲望），Vahni or Shikhi（‘fire’，火），Gola（‘ball’，球，=> 内心之球），Dhvaja（‘banner’，旗标、标志，=> 象征物、言语），Kanda（‘bulb’，灯泡，=> 发光的球体），Piṇḍa or Tattva（‘principle, essence’，原则、本质，=> 真实、真理）。
    以上的 7个 “Loka” 或 “Vyahriti”，可以被前三个 “Loka”：“Bhūr、Bhuvaḥ、Svaḥ” 的统合体 (trinity) 来代表，因此这三个 “Loka” 又被称为 “Great Vyahritis”，它们的名字就直接出现在了这个创世神咒——“Gayatri Mantra” 的第一句里面，它们三个连在一起，即 “Bhūr Bhuvaḥ Svaḥ”，就统一代表了上述 7个 “Loka” 或 “Vyahriti”，包括了“地界”和所有的“天堂”，若不算“冥界”的话，它们就代表了整个“宇宙”。
    其中，“Svaḥ”（发音 “Swaha”，古音读作 “Suwaha”）统合代表了除前两个之外的 5个“天堂”，这个词后来变化成了 “Svāhā”（发音相同），成了许多祈福类咒语的结尾词，包括很多佛教咒语。现在你应该明白了，为什么咒语的结尾要用 “Swaha”，因为这是来自“天堂”的祝福。
    另外还有一种解释，将 “Gayatri Mantra” 视作对“最高之主”——“Vishnu” 的赞歌：
       - “Oṃ” 代表大神 “Vishnu”，他是所有美德（善）的宝库；
       - “Bhūr” 代表他的完美的品质；
       - “Bhuvaḥ” 代表他所有的力量；
       - “Svaḥ” 代表他的幸福本质。
    合起来大意就是：您是 “Bhūr”——万物的创造者，“Bhuvaḥ”——万物的维持者，“Svaḥ”——万物的终极目标。“Bhūr Bhuvaḥ Svaḥ” 表明，“宇宙”虽然是分层次的，但还是作为整体而存在的。“宇宙”的这种整体性，是“至高无上之神” (Vishnu) 作用的结果，他也是一切事物的根本之因。
    此外，“Bhūr Bhuvaḥ Svaḥ” 除了代表“宇宙”之外，还代表“人的物质性身体”（肉身），当然也包括上述 7个“脉轮”。因此，也可以把它们再还原回 7个 “Loka” 的形式，这样可以直接召唤 7个 “Loka” 或“脉轮”的能量和意识，从而变成了一种新形式的咒语——“七脉轮 Gayatri Mantra”（Seven Chakra Gayatri Mantra，其中前半部分又被称为 “Vyahriti Mantras”）：

    Bhuh, Bhuvah, Suvah, these are the 3 sacred interjections (vyaahriti). Mahakamasya taught a fourth, viz. Mahah, which is Brahman, which is the Self. The others (devatas) are its members.
    1. Bhuh is this world,
    2. Bhuvah is the sky,
    3. Suvah is the other world.
    Mahah is the sun. All the worlds are increased by the sun.
    1. Bhuh is Agni (fire),
    2. Bhuvah is Vayu (air),
    3. Suvah is Aditya (sun).
    Mahah is the moon. All the heavenly lights are increased by the moon.

    Mahah is Brahman. All the Vedas are increased by the Brahman.
    1. Bhuh is Prana (up-breathing),
    2. Bhuvah is Apana (down-breathing),
    3. Suvah is Vyana (back-breathing).
    Mahah is food. All breathings are increased by food.
    Thus there are these 4x4, the 16 sacred interjections. He who knows these, Knows the Brahman. All Devas bring offerings to him.

Original form of the Great Gayatri（原始形式）;
Healing, to purify imagine light above, within and all around. Liberation.
— These are the Gayatri Mantras for the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva). The Creator, the Protector and the Destroyer. These are three dominant forces which control everything in the Universe. These Gayatri Mantras if recited with dedication and a pure heart are sure to free one from all the worries in life.

Brahma Gayatri Mantra:

Om Chatur-mukhaaya Vidmahe |
Hamsah Rudraaya Dheemahi |
Tanno Brahmaa Prachodayaat ||

Om Tat Purushaaya Vidmahe |
Chatur-mukhaaya Dheemahi |

* Hamsah/haṅsaḥ = “who am I?”;
* Chatur/catur = four; Chatur-mukha = four-face;
* Vidmahe — who is omnipresent;
* Dheemahi — We meditate upon and pray for greater intellect;
* Prachodayaat — Illuminate our minds with wisdom.

Vishnu Gayatri Mantra:
