| Gaṇeśa/Ganesha/Ganesh/Ganapati is known as the remover of obstacles. It is believed that Muladhara is a subtle abode of the Hindu God, Ganapati. |
| Ganesha is said to preside over the Muladhara Chakra. For this reason, He is well known as Vighneshvara (lord of obstacles) and Siddhi Vinayaka (bestower of success). He represents the divine power that works from the lower levels removing obstacles and uplifting life to stages of supreme consciousness. |
| The seeker on the path understands that the biggest obstacles are not in the outside – the obstacles are one's own misconceptions, conditionings, beliefs – and chattering mind. And in the highest revered prayer for Ganapati, the Ganapati Atharvashirsha, it is mentioned that 'one who worships Lord Ganapati would easily grasp the concept and realize Brahman'. |
