[[Meaning_en]]
Om, Hail to the Jewel (Method) in the Lotus (Wisdom). They are indivisible.
[[Meaning_cn]]
【字面含义:】唵,赞美莲花里的宝石,它们是不可分割的整体。
【象征寓意:】智慧与方法(方便之法)是不可分割的,按照智慧得来的方法进行修行才能获得解脱。
[[Glossary]]
* Om — Undescribable original (primal) essence (sound);
  — 梵文咒语及祈祷语首发之圣音,含有神圣之意,据说是宇宙振动频率产生的最原始的声音。
* Mani — The jewel (=> method),宝石,象征:“方便之法”,“方法、道路”;
* Padme — Padma” 的呼格,即 “Lotus” (=> wisdom),莲花,象征:“智慧”;
* Hum — Indivisibility,不可分割的。
* 注:从词法上分析,“Mani” 没有用呼格,“Padme” 用了呼格,说明这两个词是连成一体的;因此从词法上讲,“宝石”和“莲花”也是不可分割的。】
* Om — Unity,“一”、宇宙的统一性;
* Mani — Mind,头脑、心智、自我、ego;
* Padme — Opening the chakras and heart,打开脉轮和心灵;
* Hum — Integration between heart and mind,心灵与头脑的统一或结合。
* “Hūṃ/Hum” 的发音要点:
(Añjali Mudra)
[[Comment_en]]
    Usage: Mood elevation, happiness.
    Notes: Visualize dark red / yellow / blue. Practice every day before 9 am.
    — Our potential is cultivated through confidence that the suffering of others can be eradicated. This produces unshakable self - belief and inner beauty.
    Shakyamuni Buddha himself said about this mantra "This is the most beneficial mantra. Even I made this aspiration to all the million Buddhas and subsequently received this teaching from Buddha Amitabha.”
- Padmasambhava, from Sanglingma "The Lotus Born":
    Its importance is underscored in this quote from Padmasambhava, who brought Tantra to Tibet, who said: "Avalokiteshvara gazes with overwhelming compassion towards all the six classes of sentient beings, who are tormented-折磨 by misery-痛苦. The compassion that has the Dharma as its focus is the six syllables of ‘om manipadme hum’. The virtues of the six syllables are immeasurable and cannot be fully described even by the buddhas of the 3 times. Why is that? It is because this mantra is the quintessence-精髓 of the mind of the noble Avalokiteshvara, who continually looks upon the six classes of sentient beings with compassion. Thus the recitation of this mantra liberates all beings from samsara-轮回.”
- Some effects as given by Lama Thubken Trinley:
    "These are the six syllables which prevent rebirth into the six realms of cyclic existence. It translates literally as 'OM the jewel in the lotus HUM'. OM prevents rebirth in the God realm, MA prevents rebirth in the Asura (Titan) realm, NI prevents rebirth in the Human realm, PA prevents rebirth in the Animal realm, ME prevents rebirth in the Hungry Ghost realm, and HUM prevents rebirth in the Hell Realm.”
- Some effects as given by H.H. The 14th Dalai Lama:
    "It is very good to recite the mantra 'Om mani padme hum', but while you are doing it, you should be thinking on its meaning, for the meaning of the six syllables is great and vast... The first, Om symbolizes the practitioner's impure body, speech, and mind; it also symbolizes the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha..."
    "The path is indicated by the next four syllables. Mani, meaning jewel, symbolizes the factors of method: thealtruistic intention to become enlightened, compassion, and love ..."
"The two syllables, padme, meaning lotus, symbolize wisdom..."
"Purity must be achieved by an indivisible unity of method and wisdom, symbolized by the final syllable hum, which indicates indivisibility..."
    "Thus the six syllables, 'Om mani padme hum', mean that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha..."
